Transitioning into the latter half of their teenage years is a very important time in every young adult’s life but more specifically for the girls. Before young girls start imagining a wedding day, they first dream of their sixteenth birthday, especially more-so if they’ve seen or participated in one. This does not mean young men are excluded from these celebrations by any means but young women definitely deserve as celebration for the transition.

One significant purpose for having of a sweet sixteen party is to celebrate that a child is maturing into a young adult. They are held to celebrate all of their past accomplishments and give them warm wishes as they turn the page to a new chapter of their life. This is a special time for both the teenager their parents. In many places once a child turns sixteen they acquire the benchmark legal right to drive. That freedom and responsibility is an exemplification of the transition out of childhood. This is a very exciting time for a teenager and a nerve wracking time for every parent. It is truly a time when parents begin to lose some control over some aspects of their child’s lives . Once sixteen, these now young adults take on more responsibility for themselves and their actions and that transition assuredly deserves celebration as well as the road that lead to it.

A sweet sixteen celebration helps parents, families, and friends show their love and support for these blossoming young adults. It gives the sixteen year old encouragement to go forth and conquer whatever obstacles and adversities the world may throw their way and is a wonderful opportunity to look back and appreciate the journey up until that point with friends and family.
